Allergic Skin Diseases (eczema-hives)

Allergic skin diseases are common skin problems that can affect many people. These diseases occur as a result of the body's immune system overreacting to an allergen. In this blog post, I will give information about the causes, symptoms and treatment methods of allergic skin diseases.

1. Contact Dermatitis:

Contact dermatitis is an allergic reaction that occurs when the skin comes into contact with a substance. Depending on the substance contacted, skin redness, itching, swelling and blisters may occur. This condition can develop against many different substances such as chemicals, cleaning products, cosmetics, metals and plant extracts. Treatment includes methods such as discontinuation of contact, topical corticosteroid creams and antihistamines.

2. Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema):

Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin disease characterized by skin redness, itching, dryness and blisters. It is usually caused by factors such as genetic predisposition, immune system disorders, exposure to allergens and weakness in the skin barrier. Moisturizers, corticosteroid creams, antihistamines and immune modulator drugs are used in the treatment of eczema.

3. Urticaria (Hives):

Urticaria is an allergic reaction in which itchy, raised and red lesions occur on the skin. This condition usually develops in response to allergens or certain medications. Additionally, stress, infections and physical stimuli can also trigger urticaria. Treatment includes antihistamines, corticosteroids, and allergen avoidance.

4. Allergic Contact Dermatitis:

Allergic contact dermatitis occurs as a result of an allergic reaction to a substance. This condition usually manifests itself with skin redness, itching, swelling and blisters. Allergic contact dermatitis can often develop against substances such as metals (nickel), latex, cosmetics, chemicals and perfumes. Treatment consists of stopping contact, using corticosteroid creams and antihistamines.

If you are experiencing allergic skin problems, you should get help from a dermatologist.
